Uber stress

The move was nothing short of awful. What could go wrong did go wrong. The movers were great but the company screwed us over from pillar to post. The move took 2 full days for a 2 bedroom house. The phone and internet is still not connected despite it being booked for last Friday. Etc etc. We’ve spent the weekend feeling like 80 year olds.

BUT we’re into our house, it’s everything we hoped it would be and more and we really couldn’t be happier about it. I have of course managed to fit in some thrifting and have scored treasure after treasure. Our brand new fridge, freezer and washing machine got delivered yesterday. Clean clothes!! Boxes are slowly getting unpacked, Rastus is doing great and Ginga cries all night long without a break. Hopefully I will be able to show you photos later this week.

  1. Glad you made it! But I’m so sorry that moving was such a nightmare. I know that feeling of feeling like an 80 year old because that’s how I felt after my recent move. It was so much work! I can’t wait to see pictures. πŸ™‚

Oh, I’m sorry to hear about the things that didn’t go as anticipated, but I’m so glad you’re moved in!! I don’t think our phone / internet have *ever* been hooked up when they were supposed to during any of our moves — it just seems to be one of those things to count on going wrong. Very nice that your appliances were delivered on time tho!

Ginga is your other kitty? I hope s/he settles in quickly.

Enjoy unpacking and making the space your own :).

And be sure to get some rest and don’t forget to eat before you reach “starving and cranky” mode!

  3. I am so sorry! Moving can really be so awful! Glad you are in your home though and hope that soon you will be unpacked surrouned by nothing but comfy home bliss!

  4. Sorry to hear the move was awful. How on earth did they eek it out to two days??

The last two times we moved house we didn’t have the internet, Sky or a phone for about a week. It sure makes you feel a bit lost!

  5. oh wondered how you were getting on, well upwards and onwards now!

  6. Moving is horrid, no way around that! Soon it will all be just an unpleasant memory. Glad to hear the kitties are hanging in there. πŸ™‚
